Simon Neequaye

Mr Simon Neequaye is an established Consultant Surgeon with a busy NHS practice encompassing all aspects of Vascular surgery with a specific focus on keyhole surgery for vascular disease. He is a specialist in both traditional open and keyhole (endovascular) surgery. Mr Neequaye trained in London, Oxford and Melbourne (Australia) with final training in Canada as the Advanced Aortic and Peripheral Endovascular Surgery Fellow at McGill University, Montreal. Following extensive specialist training Mr Neequaye joined the unit in Liverpool as part of a large multidisciplinary group offering world class treatment to patients with Vascular disease. Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (LiVES) are the premier vascular unit in the United Kingdom. Mr Neequaye is the Clinical Lead for Hybrid theatres at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust (LUHFT) and is the Clinical Audit Lead for the Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Service.

Mr Neequaye is part of the Liverpool Cardiovascular Surgery (LCS) group, a formal joint collaboration between Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and Liverpool Vascular & LiVES. This group provides a super-regional and national program for complex aortic pathology.

Mr Neequaye runs a busy general vascular practice working with the specialist nursing team to provide a comprehensive vascular practice managing complications of peripheral arterial disease and Venous disease such as varicose veins.

Kate Donovan Dip HE, BSc Hons

Kate Donovan is an experienced and dedicated professional who has worked as a Registered Nurse for the past 19 years within primary and secondary care in both the UK and Australia. Kate currently works as a Vascular Specialist Nurse within Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular Service (LiVES). Kate’s role involves delivering independent clinics for conditions including intermittent claudication, and lower limb ulceration, her clinical background is within the assessment and management of acute and chronic complex wounds, complex skin conditions and leg ulcers. Kate is an independent non-medical prescriber who has vast experience and offers clinical excellence in relation to compression therapy ranging from bandaging to compression garments.

Richard Harrison

I am a highly experienced and skilled accredited vascular scientist (AVS), practising for 16 years. For the past 11 years I have worked with the Liverpool Vascular and Endovascular services (LIVES), a world renowned and respected vascular unit.

I perform a full range of non-invasive vascular ultrasound including carotid, arterial, venous (upper and lower limb), temporal and post EVAR duplex. I am also very experienced in more complex investigations such as Contrast enhanced ultrasound, Fenestrated Endovascular repair and Limflow.

I have gained an excellent reputation in my field for consistent high quality imaging. I pride myself on this consistency and providing a pleasant welcoming experience for the patient.

Myra Hancock

I am a Clinical Vascular Scientist with more than 8 years of experience. I worked at some of London’s hospitals, both NHS and private. I completed my training at Bedford Hospital and achieved my qualification at IVS Ltd based in South Manchester University Hospital. I am accredited by both UK and US professional bodies.

To further establish my career, I joined the team at Royal Liverpool University Hospital, a well-respected and internationally recognised teaching hospital to treat vascular abnormalities.

My clinical interests include pelvic congestion syndrome, varicose veins assessment, arterial endofibrosis, and arterio-venous fistula.

Over 20 years of experience in vascular ultrasound in both the private and NHS sector. Fully competent in the imaging of a wide range of vascular diseases including the imaging of complex arterial and venous disease, post-operative aneurysm surveillance and carotid artery disease.
